Karmandan Bio
Karmandan means ‘office workers’ in Farsi. The band has released their first studio album on November1, 2010 through Bamahang Productions. The project’s sound and lyrics speak of today’s social concerns from romance to everyday’s work and life issues one might experience; for example, ‘Pelastiki’ - a track that talks about society’s obsession with plastic surgery and 'KhoshHesab’ - a track written for those who borrowed money from the band and then disappeared. The band’s unique look and sound is due to the collaboration between the four members who have come together in Los Angeles from different parts of the world. Erwin Khachikian, who has many years of experience touring, as well as producing numerous known artists, started this project back in 2008 with ‘Namayesh’. The band is currently playing shows in Armenia and the US. Other shows in Germany, Dubai and Canada are expected soon. The band has been interviewed by Behzad Bolour in a unique setting on BBC’s ‘Kook’ show and has also performed 'Nardeboon'. The band wishes to go on the road soon. So stay tuned!
